TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Mobile has begun selling Mac products, expanding its push into the Apple ecosystem.
Taiwan Mobile Chief Consumer Business Officer Lin Tung-min (林東閔) said Friday that the company is the first telecom operator in Taiwan to sell Mac products, per CNA. He said the move allows the company to reach new customer segments and drive revenue growth.
The company launched a lineup including MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Neo, and Mac mini. It said the goal is to build a more complete Apple ecosystem offering through its retail network.
Lin said telecom stores are evolving from sales points into integrated service hubs. Taiwan Mobile is bundling 14 value-added services, including Apple One, streaming content, and cloud gaming, as part of its Mac offerings.
He said customers subscribing to selected plans will receive a one-year membership to GeForce Now through Taiwan Mobile’s platinum plan. He added that the Mac program is the company’s second-largest device initiative after the iPhone.
Lin said the rollout involves around 2,500 employees and upgrades to customer service, AI support systems, and repair centers. He said Mac sales are expected to contribute to long-term revenue growth, although the initial scale will be smaller than iPhone sales. He added that demand for the first batch is strong and restocking will follow.
Taiwan Mobile also announced unlimited 5G hotspot sharing for users on its NT$1,599 plan (US$50), per Anue. The company said the feature applies to all subscribers on that plan, not only Mac buyers.
