TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Zhen Ding Tech Group said Wednesday it has begun construction of 23 factories in a science park in China’s Jiangsu Province, which is expected to become the world’s largest printed circuit board production base.
Company Chair Charles Shen (沈慶芳) said Zhen Ding has ranked first in global PCB industry revenue for nine consecutive years. He said AI servers and high-speed optical modules require high-density and stable PCBs, a segment the company aims to expand, per CNA.
The facilities will include advanced PCB production, including flexible printed circuit boards, high-density interconnect boards, substrates, and AI server circuit boards. PCBs are a key foundation of electronic products, serving as a platform for electronic components and enabling signal transmission through copper traces.
Shen noted the company is transforming from a traditional PCB manufacturer into an AI server component supplier. The firm is also shifting from scale-driven manufacturing to higher-value products.
In addition to the new facility under construction in China, the company has formed a joint venture with Thailand’s Saha Group to build factories in Thailand. The first plant began production in May 2025, focusing on PCBs for high-end servers, automotive applications, and optical communications, while construction of a second plant also started in the same month.
Company President Chien Chen-fu (簡禎富) said the company has also set up a smart factory in Kaohsiung that integrates AI technology to improve stability and yield. The plant produces high-layer, high-density, fine-pitch PCBs used in AI servers, communications equipment, EVs, and robotics.
Leading Interconnect Semiconductor, the group’s subsidiary, is expected to turn profitable this year, Shen added. To meet rising orders, the company plans to expand its factories from three to seven and aims to account for 15% of group revenue by 2030.
The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association estimates that global PCB output will reach NT$3.3 trillion (US$103 billion) this year. Taiwan’s PCB sector generated NT$1.37 trillion last year, a 12.4% increase from 2024. Driven by AI demand, the nation’s PCB output is expected to rise further this year.
