TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese firms drew attention from Southeast Asian officials at the 19th Defence Services Asia exhibition in Malaysia, CNA reported Wednesday.
The event ran from Monday to Thursday at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre and served as a platform for regional defense and security cooperation. Taiwanese companies showcased key technologies, including cybersecurity systems and counter-drone solutions.
Cambodian Deputy Defense Minister Yun Min visited a Taiwanese company’s booth to learn about a new cybersecurity model. A company executive said the system uses post-quantum cryptography, one-way gateways, and AI analysis, CTS reported.
The technology is designed to block threats, prevent data leaks, and stop decryption attempts. It can be applied in government, critical infrastructure, industrial control systems, and the financial sector.
Economic Daily News reported that Malaysian naval officials also reviewed Taiwan-made active phased array radar systems. These systems support electronic jamming and the interception of drones.
An industry executive said China-free supply chains are becoming more important as regional tensions rise. Taiwan’s domestically developed radar systems offer flexible design and strong scalability.
Military personnel and defense experts also visited Taiwanese booths during the event. Industry sources said Taiwan is gaining a larger role in regional defense cooperation through its independent supply chain.
