TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui (黃敏惠) and Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) promoted local culinary specialties at the Taiwan Select pavilion at a Singapore food fair on Tuesday.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council has a pavilion at the April 21-24 Food and Hospitality Asia 2026 fair, per CNA. More than 100 businesses from Taiwan are promoting their drinks and foods with the Southeast Asia market in mind.
The Chiayi mayor named honey and soy sauce as popular products from her city. She also praised the tea and coffee from Alishan in neighboring Chiayi County.
The Tainan mayor said the city’s presence at the fair would introduce its gastronomic riches to residents of Singapore and neighboring countries. The products of Tainan’s agriculture were highly competitive on the international market. Direct contacts with distributors and buyers would improve the visibility of local products, Huang said.
