TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei will host the Thai Festival at Far Eastern Department Store A13 from April 24 to 26, featuring performances, food, and an AI exhibit where visitors can try on royal costumes.
CNA reported Wednesday that the event will include food vendors and product showcases from selected Thai brands. Thailand Representative to Taiwan Narong Boonsatheanwong said the displays aim to introduce Thai products and lifestyle to visitors.
The Thailand Trade and Economic Office will also highlight the legacy of Queen Mother Sirikit and her influence on the development of Thailand’s national dress. Her efforts in the 1960s helped shape a modern version of traditional attire, which was later widely adopted and recognized as part of the country’s cultural heritage, UDN reported.
In addition to cultural exhibits, an AI-powered booth will allow visitors to virtually wear the outfits and take photos, Economic Daily News reported. The feature is designed to make the experience more interactive.
The event will feature Thai dance and music performances, along with appearances by Thai pop artists who will meet fans. Organizers said the lineup is intended to appeal to a wide audience.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. on April 25. Attendees will also have a chance to win round-trip tickets between Taipei and Krung Thep, per Tai-Thai Times.
