TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Tourism Administration spotlighted Taiwan’s diverse tourism with its “Taiwan 100 Ways” campaign at the Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 in Miami.
The exhibition runs from April 13 to 16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Su Yu-hsuan (蘇祐萱), secretary of the Tourism Administration’s International Affairs Division, said Taiwan’s central location in Asia makes it an ideal regional hub, per CNA. With strong air connectivity and modern port infrastructure, Taiwan offers cruise partners a practical and attractive platform for growth, he said.
To support cruise industry partners, the Tourism Administration has introduced a range of incentives to encourage more port calls and the development of “fly-and-cruise” packages, according to CNA. International cruise operators carrying overseas passengers who dock in Taiwan for more than 12 hours can receive subsidies of up to NT$474,277 (US$15,000) per port call, while shorter stops are eligible for up to NT$237,138.
For fly-and-cruise itineraries, the Tourism Administration also offers subsidies of up to NT$316 per international traveler whose itinerary includes Taiwan as a port of call.
Last week, Taichung Port welcomed its first international cruise ship to dock in seven years. The boutique cruise ship Island Sky arrived after stopping in Kaohsiung and Magong. It sailed to Keelung and Hualien afterwards.
