TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Air Force conducted its routine Tian Long exercise on Saturday, simulating countering a Chinese military blockade of Taiwan.
The Ministry of National Defense activated a mock transition from peacetime to wartime operations, Military News Agency reported.
Chien Hsiang kamikaze drones were deployed to attack enemy assets. The Air Force also sent P-3C anti-submarine aircraft and E-2K early-warning aircraft to conduct surveillance, while Indigenous Defense Fighter jets helped secure the airspace.
F-16V fighter jets were later deployed alongside drones to suppress Chinese radar systems. These operations were supported by a layered air defense network, including Patriot and Sky Bow missile systems, as well as Avenger systems and 35mm anti-aircraft guns. The Joint Air Operations Center coordinated air and sea strikes and escort missions to protect critical supply lines.
Meanwhile, ground personnel carried out rapid runway repairs and conducted tunnel collapse rescue operations.
The Air Force Command said that the exercise integrated forces across the military and improved combat readiness.
