TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Gasoline and diesel prices will not change for a second week running, state-run energy group CPC Corp., Taiwan said Saturday.
Under the government’s dual stabilization program for fuel prices, CPC will have absorbed NT$10.73 billion (US$338 million) in oil price rises from the start of the Iran War on Feb. 28 until Sunday, the company said.
Officials emphasized the policy is designed to limit the impact of energy price fluctuations on living conditions and business operations, the Liberty Times reported.
As a result of the CPC’s decision, retail prices will remain NT$32.4, NT$33.9, and NT$35.9 for 92-, 95-, and 98-octane unleaded gasoline. The price of premium diesel will also stay unchanged until after April 19 at NT$31 per liter.
