TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A Tigerair Taiwan flight on its way to the Japanese city of Hakodate turned back to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport due to a medical emergency, the airline said Friday.
Flight IT236 took off from Taoyuan at 7 a.m. on Friday, but a passenger felt uncomfortable during the flight. The crew found a health professional among the passengers to help out, the Liberty Times reported.
The person said the passenger would require medical assistance, leading the pilot to decide to turn back to Taoyuan, Tigerair Taiwan said. The airline said it would arrange for a plane to take the original passengers of flight IT236 to Hakodate on the island of Hokkaido.
