TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A Taiwan Research Day at Leiden University in the Netherlands emphasizes quantum computing, reports said Saturday.
The event was sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council and by Taiwan’s representative office in the Netherlands, per CNA. Entrepreneurs and academics from both countries sat down to discuss cooperation projects and technological developments, officials said.
Taiwan’s envoy to the Netherlands Tien Chung-kwang (田中光) and Leiden University Faculty of Science Dean Jasper Knoester addressed the opening ceremony.
Tien named the cooperation between Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and ASML Holding N.V. as an example of businesses from the two countries involved in joint projects related to key technological development.
As a key producer of semiconductors and robots, Taiwan was actively promoting international cooperation via its quantum computing sector, the envoy said.
