Looking at imports, the Ministry of Finance said Taiwan fell to No. 19 in 2025 from No. 18 the previous year. The country accounted for 1.8% of total global imports. Hong Kong was the No. 6 importer and South Korea ranked No. 12, while Singapore was one place ahead of Taiwan at No. 18.
The ministry said AI, semiconductors, and information and communications technology products drove Taiwan’s strong export performance last year. For computer chips and ICT goods, Taiwan recorded a 1.5% rise in exports in 2025, the strongest increase of any country in the world.
