TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — India’s largest tech expo opened in New Delhi on Monday, with Taiwan showcasing its AI prowess.
The three-day Convergence India Expo is expected to attract participants from 26 countries, more than 976 companies, and over 54,000 attendees, per CNA. Seventeen Taiwanese firms joined under the theme “Taiwan AI Technology Island,” with a pavilion highlighting AI-related products, per RTI.
Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India Economic Division Director Chen Yu-chi (陳郁淇) said the pavilion showcased Taiwan’s strengths in AI hardware. He noted that India’s push for digital transformation, including initiatives such as Digital India, is creating strong demand for high-performance solutions.
Chen said Taiwanese companies at the event have operated in India for more than a decade and maintain strong local partnerships. He added that the exhibition offers an opportunity to expand business ties and attract new customers.
Taiwanese firms also highlighted cooperation with Indian partners, including defense and infrastructure projects. Lanner recently secured a military order worth about NT$80 million (US$2.5 million), citing strong security certifications and product reliability.
Other exhibitors presented applications in railways, smart manufacturing, and automation, including AI systems developed with Nvidia.
