TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Star Alliance has opened a new connection support center at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), improving transfers for EVA Air passengers traveling between Taiwan and the Americas.
More than 350,000 passengers transfer annually through Star Alliance member airlines at LAX, making it one of the alliance’s key global hubs, per CNA. The alliance on Monday said that the new Star Connection Centre is its ninth such facility worldwide.
The center is designed to assist passengers connecting between two member airline flights. It can identify travelers at risk of missing connections due to delays and deploy on-site staff to help them reach their next flight.
Customer service staff monitor connection schedules using dedicated software and coordinate assistance when needed. This includes meeting passengers at arrival gates and escorting them to departing flights.
As a Star Alliance member, EVA Air passengers transiting through Los Angeles will also benefit from the new support center, particularly on long-haul routes connecting Taiwan to North America and beyond.
In addition to Los Angeles, Star Alliance operates passenger connection support centers in Brussels (BRU), Chicago (ORD), Frankfurt (FRA), and Toronto (YYZ). Dedicated baggage transfer facilities are located in Houston (IAH), Newark (EWR), Washington, DC (IAD), and San Francisco (SFO).
