TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Railway Corporation announced Monday that it will add 20 train services across its network during the Tomb-Sweeping long holiday from April 2–7.
TRC said 16 services will be offered on the west coast line and four on the east coast line, according to a TRC press release. Eight Tze-Chiang Limited Express trains are scheduled on the west coast line, while four are scheduled on the east coast line. The corporation estimated that overall transport capacity will increase by 7.8%.
EMU3000 trains on the western main line will temporarily suspend non-reserved seating. Instead, 200 standing tickets will be sold in limited quantities on the day of travel, TRC said. Travelers may book tickets via the official TRC website or through the TRC e-booking mobile app.
Reservations for these additional services will begin at midnight on Wednesday through the online booking system, the app, convenience stores, and the automated telephone reservation system, the corporation added. Information on the additional train numbers and schedules is now available on the TRC website and app.
