TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Southern Taiwan Science Park’s revenue reached NT$2.86 trillion (US$88.83 billion) last year, fueled by the global AI boom and demand for advanced semiconductor processes, the Tainan City Government said Saturday.
The Tainan City Economic Development Bureau said this represents over 34% growth from NT$2.12 trillion in 2024, marking the second year of more than 30% growth, per CNA. The park maintained its lead among Taiwan’s three major science parks, surpassing the combined revenue of Hsinchu and Central Taiwan Science Parks.
The bureau reported that industrial momentum at Southern Taiwan Science Park remains strong. With accelerated investments across upstream and downstream semiconductor and AI supply chains, the park is projected to exceed NT$3 trillion this year.
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) said the city has developed a world-class semiconductor cluster centered on TSMC, per UDN. Upstream and downstream supply chains, including chemical materials and silicon wafers are now locally deployed, creating a complete ecosystem, he explained.
The bureau said the park hosts leading semiconductor equipment suppliers like ASML, with recent investments from Wistron, AMD, and others. The city will continue to attract investment and promote AI integration, it added.
