TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Singapore Airlines will add four flights a week to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport due to strong demand from people wanting to visit Taiwan and from business travelers, reports said Friday.
The increase to 18 flights per week is scheduled for February to May, per CNA. The airline said it had confidence in the Taiwan market, while hoping the new addition would make travel even more convenient and flexible.
Singapore Airlines Country Manager Timothy Ouyang (歐陽漢源) said the Taiwan market showed stable growth over the past year, bringing positive results for the company. The airline group said it operated flights on 136 airports in 37 countries, with plans to strengthen its service in Europe and Asia.
Singapore Airlines also plans to add flights to destinations including Bangkok, Barcelona, Cairns in Australia, Surabaya in Indonesia, and Yangon in Myanmar during the summer. The number of flights between Singapore and the Sri Lankan capital Colombo was increased to 10 a week from January.
