TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Science and Technology Council is leading a delegation to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society conference in the US to showcase healthcare innovations.
The NSTC said it partnered with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to organize the delegation under the theme “Healthy Taiwan, Smart Healthcare,” per CNA. The group includes nine hospitals and 25 companies attending the Las Vegas event from Tuesday to Thursday.
The exhibition focuses on three areas: smart hospital digital infrastructure, clinical AI applications, and remote and home care. Technologies on display include electronic medical record integration, surgical robots, critical care systems, and smart long-term care solutions.
The Taiwan pavilion opened on Wednesday, featuring business matchmaking sessions and exchanges with international medical centers and venture capital firms.
In smart hospital infrastructure, Taipei Veterans General Hospital worked with Chunghwa Telecom to develop the DeepFlow AI MLOps platform. The system streamlines AI training and cuts development time by half.
Tungs’ Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital and Chiun Mai Communications also developed the Fusion smart care platform. The system uses precise positioning and contactless monitoring to reduce staff workload.
The NSTC said the delegation will also visit the Southern California-based healthcare network AHMC Healthcare to examine medical device localization for Taiwan.
