TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Minister of Public Infrastructure of Saint Kitts and Nevis Konris Maynard and Minister of Sustainable Development and Environment Joyelle Clarke arrived in Taiwan on Monday for talks on energy and sustainability.
The eight-member delegation will be in Taiwan until Saturday. The group will meet with Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) and attend a banquet hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi (陳明祺), the foreign ministry said.
The delegation will hold meetings with the Ministry of the Environment, the Energy Administration, and the Industrial Technology Research Institute to exchange views on the energy transition, carbon credit cooperation, the circular economy, and sustainable development. Maynard will also sign an implementation agreement for a green energy transition demonstration project with the International Cooperation and Development Fund.
Saint Kitts and Nevis is an important diplomatic ally of Taiwan in the Caribbean and has consistently supported Taiwan’s participation in international organizations, the foreign ministry said. The two countries have maintained close and productive cooperation in areas such as healthcare, education, and tourism, promoting mutual prosperity and shared development.
