TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC will hire around 8,000 engineers and technicians this year, offering master’s-level new hires an average annual salary of NT$2.2 million (US$69,000).
TSMC attended a campus career fair at National Taiwan University on Saturday, seeking engineering and research talent, per CNA. The company said it hopes the recruitment drive will boost growth and technological development.
Work locations for recruits will span Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, per UDN. Recruitment targets include fresh graduates and candidates with experience in engineering, physics, computer science, and accounting.
TSMC said it is promoting digital transformation and expanding AI and big data applications. The company is also building next-generation smart factories to maintain an edge in chips.
In addition to National Taiwan University, TSMC will visit major universities like National Taiwan Normal University and Taipei Tech.
TSMC’s DNA summer internship program is open to juniors and above, with preference for master’s and PhD students. Outstanding interns may receive offers that turn into full-time roles. Applications close on May 8.
