TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — An Yilan County Council secretary and two family members have been out of contact since late February, CNA reported Thursday.
Relatives have contacted police to assist in locating the family. Authorities have confirmed that the three have left the country.
The secretary, surnamed Huang (黃), took frequent leave in the second half of last year due to health reasons. Huang did not return to work after the Lunar New Year holiday ended on Feb. 23. Huang’s son, who attends junior high school, was also reported as truant.
On Wednesday, a resignation letter was sent to the county council via Huang’s Facebook account, citing health reasons and the need for rest. The resignation was approved, but the family’s whereabouts remain unknown.
