TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Tourism Administration said Monday that 76 tour groups comprising 2,059 travelers have been affected by the intensifying war in the Middle East.
The Tourism Administration said the conflict has led to airspace closures across parts of the Middle East, disrupting flights and forcing cancellations, per CNA. Of the Taiwanese tours affected, about 31 groups involving 851 travelers canceled their tours and received refunds, while about 45 groups with 1,208 travelers have been stranded overseas due to flight disruptions.
Travel agencies have been instructed to assist travelers in returning to Taiwan as soon as possible. If tourists are unable to return immediately, agencies are to arrange lodging and meals.
