TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) lauded the nation’s chip production at the opening ceremony of the Taiwan Tech World Pavilion in Chiayi on Sunday.
The pavilion represented Taiwan at the 2025 Osaka World Expo and was later moved to Chiayi. It was themed "Connecting Worlds, Creating a Better Future Together" and featured three main theaters: “Life,” “Nature,” and “Future.”
Cho said the Future Theater illustrates how semiconductors are embedded in the everyday life of a young girl, per CNA. Chips are Taiwan’s calling card, he said, adding that they are a symbol of the core strength of Taiwan’s industries. “Chips are the best introduction to Taiwan.”
Visitors can also experience the two other theaters inside the pavilion.
Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) said that in Japan, more than 1.1 million people waited two to three hours in line to visit the pavilion. Due to its success, the Cabinet decided that Taiwanese should also have the opportunity to see it.
The decision to relocate it back to Taiwan and rebuild it took only three months, Kung said. It is absolutely as impressive as when it was exhibited at the Osaka Expo, he said.
