TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Institute of Cyber Security released guides Tuesday to help small businesses and non-profits protect against growing cyber threats.
The agency said cyberattacks, including those from China, have become more frequent and sophisticated, per CNA. Limited staff and expertise often leave smaller organizations exposed to ransomware and phishing.
The series, available for free download, consists of five manuals designed for clarity, practicality and immediate use. Each offers beginner-friendly steps to build basic protection.
“Course Navigation” allows users to grasp the overall framework, while “Cybersecurity Fundamentals” explains threats through case studies and links security to operations.
“Easy Network Security” provides checklists to improve Wi-Fi settings, enable multi-factor authentication and secure high-risk accounts. “Secure IT Outsourcing” helps non-technical managers reduce risks when procuring or maintaining IT services, and “Comprehensive Cybersecurity Guidelines” helps organizations strengthen protections.
The agency said the manuals are also suitable for individuals, offering guidance on securing home networks and connected Internet of Things devices. Practical scenarios and self-checklists aim to make cybersecurity a daily habit.
