TAIPEI (Taiwan News) —Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released its annual Lunar New Year message on Sunday, wishing the world a safe, happy, and prosperous new year.
For the second year in a row, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) joined the film project to share a personal message for the people of Taiwan and the rest of the world, reported CNA.
Lin shared a couplet that expresses the ministry’s mission to travel the world and build resilient partnerships. Lin said he hopes that in the year of the horse, Taiwan will move with confidence on the world stage to engage in exchanges and build stronger international partnerships.
In the last year, Taiwan received over 600 delegations representing more than 100 countries. The foreign minister was able to represent Taiwan during visits to 11 diplomatic allies, 11 friendly countries, and even made a stop at the European Parliament.
Touting the success of the nation's international engagement, the minister pledged to continue expanding Taiwan’s presence on the international stage. The ministry will continue sharing the beauty of Taiwan with even more people, Lin said.
The minister hoped that the government, industry, and civic society would continue to work together to make the country a friendly, reliable international partner. He also invited other nations to share in the goodwill and work with Taiwan on issues of mutual interest.
