TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Bilateral trade between Taiwan and Thailand reached NT$608.8 billion (US$19.373 billion) in 2025, a 7.3% increase from the previous year, CNA reported Friday.
Taiwan’s exports to Thailand rose 8.15% from 2024 to NT$401.7 billion. Imports from Thailand increased 5.7% to NT$207 billion, making Thailand Taiwan’s 11th-largest trading partner, according to the Taiwan ASEAN Studies Center.
Exports were led by information and communication technology and semiconductor-related products. Imports focused on electronics and electrical equipment, including integrated circuits, telephones, air conditioners, and static converters.
Taiwan’s representative in Thailand, Lan Hsia-li (藍夏禮), has in the past highlighted the country’s growing economic engagement with Thailand. Taiwanese businesses secured 131 investment projects last year, totaling NT$27.7 billion.
Lan said Thailand holds advantages in emerging industries such as environmental management and investment convenience. These factors make the country appealing for semiconductor supply chains, startups, biotechnology, and medical devices.
Lan also noted that economic and trade cooperation now extends beyond commercial interests, as national security is increasingly tied to semiconductors, AI, and ICT. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand plans to continue strengthening collaboration between the two countries in trade, education, labor, and cultural exchanges.
