TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Ten Foxconn employees each won NT$10 million Thursday at the company’s annual year-end celebration at Taipei Dome.
More than 30,000 employees and family members from around the world attended the event. Founder Terry Gou (郭台銘), though not present, added NT$300 million to the employee lottery, according to CNA.
In addition to the NT$10 million prizes, 20 employees received NT$1 million each, while 1,000 received NT$200,000 each. Ten employees won Foxtron Bria electric vehicles.
In addition, 100 employees were selected to take their families on a free trip to Tokyo in early March to watch the World Baseball Classic. All registered employees who did not win a major prize received a consolation award of NT$16,888.
During the event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) delivered a video message, praising Foxconn’s support for enabling Nvidia to produce the world’s most advanced supercomputers and positioning both companies at the forefront of the artificial intelligence industry, according to Yahoo News.
Foxconn Chairman Young Liu (劉揚偉) highlighted the company’s record NT$8 trillion revenue last year, crediting the collective efforts of all employees. He added that the company aims to exceed NT$9 trillion in revenue this year.
