TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei City will host a free, two-day outdoor music event this weekend as part of the Dan Dan Festival, aimed at bringing young people together through live performances, food, and interactive activities.
The New Taipei Department of Youth announced the festival will take place Saturday and Sunday at Banqiao’s Fuzhong Plaza. The event will feature 12 bands, food trucks, and activities including a dance contest and astrology readings, per a press release.
Featured performers include Sweet John (甜約翰), Wendy Wander (溫蒂漫步), and Crispy (脆樂團), with organizers describing the lineup as a mix of up-and-coming artists known for soulful, dance-friendly music popular with younger audiences.
In addition to live music, the festival will host a range of icebreaker-style competitions designed to encourage attendees to mingle and socialize. Fortune-tellers and astrology practitioners will also be on hand to offer Lunar New Year luck predictions.

New Taipei Department of Youth Director Marcia Qiu (邱兆梅) said the Dan Dan Festival is more than just a music event, describing it as a platform for young people from different backgrounds to connect in a relaxed and festive atmosphere while creating shared memories, per CNA.
The department said the festival will also feature giveaways worth more than NT$100,000 (US$3,160). Participants in the “Fuzhong Lovework” competition will receive NT$100 vouchers and a free drink, while high scorers will also be eligible for food truck meals. Registration is available through the New Taipei City government’s website.
Six fortune-telling booths will be set up on-site, offering services such as tarot readings, numerology, Ziwei doushu (紫微斗數), also known as purple star astrology, and color personality analysis. Organizers said the activities are intended to help participants gain insight into themselves and their fortunes ahead of the Lunar New Year.
