TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) said Monday that Nvidia is expected to sign a lease for its Taiwan headquarters at the T17 and T18 sites in Beitou-Shilin Technology Park before the Lunar New Year.
The AI chipmaker’s move into the plots has drawn attention to the timing of the signing and whether CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) will attend, per CNA. Chiang said a pricing review committee will meet this week, and once the review is completed, final negotiations can be wrapped up, with the lease signing expected between Feb. 10 and 15.
Asked whether Huang will make another visit to Taiwan, Chiang said it would depend on Huang and his team’s schedule, but stressed the overall process remains on track.
In a separate interview, Huang expressed gratitude to Chiang for his assistance. Chiang responded by thanking Huang and his team for maintaining smooth communication, adding that both sides have remained in close contact.
Chiang also thanked the Nvidia team and said the city government will provide support to the fullest extent within legal and procedural limits.
