TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Synnex Technology International Corp. Vice President Tu Shu-chuan (杜書全) said the company will expand its AI application platforms and solutions to support corporate system integration and speed up industry adoption of the technology.
At the company’s year-end party on Sunday, Tu said that most AI technology is applied in cloud service providers, data center construction, and large language model development. He added the initiative aims to help businesses adopt AI applications more efficiently and at a lower cost, per CNA.
Tu highlighted strong customer interest in digital transformation and AI applications. He noted that its AI-related products will initially be sold in Taiwan before expanding to Southeast Asia and China.
Synnex has signed collaboration agreements with three companies for its AI application platform and is in talks with more than 10 additional partners. Tu said the company’s partners include Systems & Technology Corp. and MaiAgent Co.
Synnex said it distributes Nvidia’s Jetson series, which saw strong sales growth last year. The company expects demand to remain robust this year. The Nvidia Jetson series is a line of embedded computing modules designed for AI applications, combining CPU, GPU, and AI processing units to enable machine learning and AI processing in robotics.
Synnex reported revenue of NT$410.6 billion (US$13 billion) last year, the third-highest in the company’s history. Tu estimates that revenue from the semiconductor and IT services segments is expected to set a record this year, with overall revenue projected to keep growing.
Tu said that prices for memory and hard disk products are expected to continue rising. He added that CPU and PC power supplies could also see price increases. However, he noted that strong demand for IT equipment is likely to help offset the higher costs.
Synnex CEO Wang Chi-hsun (王其勳) said that Microsoft could complete its assessment of Synnex by June, potentially making the company the first Microsoft-certified cloud service provider in the Asia-Pacific region. He added that Synnex is working with its overseas branches to help secure the certification.
