TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) arrived at Taipei's Songshan Airport Thursday afternoon, attracting attention from fans interested in his short visit for company events and business discussions.
UDN reported his private jet left Shenzhen, China, stopped briefly in Hong Kong, and landed around 1:05 p.m. ETtoday said Huang, in his trademark black leather jacket and white pants, spoke briefly with media outside the VIP lounge, sharing sandwiches and drinks while signing autographs.
Huang plans to attend Nvidia Taiwan's employee banquet Friday, where he often joins staff dances and gives red envelopes with bonuses. He is also expected to host a dinner with AI supply chain leaders from TSMC, Foxconn, Quanta, and Wistron, focusing on advanced chips.
CNA reported that he may sign a deal for Nvidia’s new headquarters at North Taipei Science Park's T17 and T18 sites with Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安), following land approvals.
Nvidia recently formed a NT$10 billion (US$300 million) Taiwan subsidiary and moved its Taipei office to Nangang for AI research, highlighting Taiwan's key role in the sector.
Huang, after recent company events in Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen, is hoping that China will approve H200 AI chip sales under US export rules.
