TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Military Police 202nd Command recently conducted a four-day exercise to strengthen its capability to counter decapitation threats.
Over four days, the 211th Battalion, 229th Battalion, and 332nd Battalion carried out offensive and defensive opposition drills, including close-quarters battle, seizing key locations, and room clearing, Liberty Times reported. The units also trekked through urban areas and mountainous forests and practiced anti-drone tactics.
The 211th Battalion is tasked with protecting the president and vice president and securing the Presidential Office, while the 332nd Battalion is responsible for safeguarding the official residences of the president and vice president. The 229th Battalion is in charge of defending Taipei. The 202nd Command also has units deployed at Songshan Airport.
Typical military police training includes breaching roadblocks, conducting room-by-room searches, and neutralizing enemy positions.
