TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Adata Technology has teamed up with National Tsing Hua University to establish a new research center focused on sustainability and climate change.
The memory module maker said it signed an agreement with the university’s College of Sustainability on Tuesday, per CNA. The signing ceremony in Hsinchu was attended by Adata Chair Chen Li-pai (陳立白), College of Sustainability Dean Fan Chien-te (范建得), and NTHU President Kao Wei-yuan (高為元).
Adata said its management team took part in the ceremony, calling the move part of a broader effort to integrate corporate strategy with long-term environmental goals.
Under the partnership, Adata and NTHU will pursue research in areas including carbon credits and environmental protection. The two sides also aim to cultivate sustainability-focused talent.
Supporting academic development is not just corporate giving but a responsibility to sustainable development in Taiwan and globally, Chen said. He added that closer ties between research and industry practice are essential as companies confront increasingly complex climate challenges.
Adata said the initiative marks the first time the company will participate in the operation and development of a research center, rather than limiting its role to funding. It said it hopes the model can be replicated across industries and align with government policies.
