TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kaohsiung experienced a magnitude 4.3 earthquake at 7:48 a.m. on Monday, according to the Central Weather Administration.
The epicenter was located 94.1 kilometers northeast of Kaoshiung County Hall at a depth of five kilometers, the CWA said. Taiwan uses a scale of 1 to 7 to measure a quake's intensity at a specific location.
The quake registered a 3 in Kaohsiung, Chiayi County, and Nantou County. An intensity level of 2 was recorded in Yunlin County and Tainan.
An intensity level of 1 was reported in Taitung County, Chiayi, Hualien County, Changhua County, and Taichung.
