TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — More than 9 million copies of the defense ministry’s civil defense handbook have been distributed across Taiwan, the interior ministry announced on Saturday.
A total of 9,729,315 copies were delivered, it said in a press release. Despite challenges such as long distances, remote areas, and rugged terrain, local wardens and personnel helped to ensure the handbooks reached households.
The interior ministry coordinated with the defense ministry to begin household distribution in November. It thanked the public for their understanding and support during the delivery process. At present, each township, town, city, and district office has an additional 1% reserve supply.
The handbook is divided into three chapters: “Advance Preparation,” “In Case of Crisis,” and “Protecting Our Home.” It covers 18 topics across 29 pages, with clearly defined sections.
People who need a copy can still contact their nearest local office to request one. For those with large-volume needs, the ministry recommended downloading the electronic version from the defense ministry’s All-Out Defense Mobilization Agency website.
