TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Taiwan University Hospital has introduced an automated dispensing system at its West Campus outpatient pharmacy, CNA reported Friday.
NTHU said the system can handle nearly 3,800 prescriptions a day, boosting capacity at the hospital’s main outpatient hub. The new system improves accuracy while meeting high outpatient demand.
The hospital said the outpatient pharmacy faced space limits due to its heritage status. Equipment installation required coordination and simulations to avoid damage to the historic structure.
Construction teams worked around the clock and on holidays. System calibration was completed on a tight schedule.
The hospital said it plans to continue using automation and digital tools to optimize pharmacy processes. Founded in 1895 as a medical school, NTUH is Taiwan’s largest teaching hospital.
