TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nanya Technology has earned A List ratings for climate change and water security from the Carbon Disclosure Project, CNA reported Wednesday.
The DRAM maker said its renewable energy consumption reached 35,230 megawatt-hour, equivalent to cutting 17,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, per UDN. Its greenhouse gas emissions were lowered across operations, underscoring decarbonization progress.
Nanya said its 2024 Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions fell 12.9% from 2020 levels, while Scope 3 emissions per unit of product declined 19.4%. Renewable energy usage rose 43.9% year on year, accounting for the bulk of its annual carbon reduction.
On water management, Nanya said it has diversified supply sources. This includes canal water and rainwater harvesting to ensure stable operations at its fabs.
Through expanded recycling and water-saving systems, recycled water reached 5.59 million metric tons in 2024, earning the company the highest certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship.
Nanya Technology President Li Pei-ying (李培瑛) said the company recognizes the close links between industry and climate. Nanya is committed to sustainability through innovation, he added.
