TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC posted Friday its first-ever NT$1 trillion quarter (US$31.65 billion) driven by robust AI demand.
The company’s Q4 revenue was NT$1.05 trillion, rising 5.67% quarter over quarter, per CNA. The result came in slightly above the company’s prior guidance of NT$1.02 trillion to NT$1.03 trillion, based on an exchange rate of NT$30.6 per US dollar.
The chipmaker said December revenue reached NT$335 billion, down 2.5% from November but up 20.4% from a year earlier, per TechNews.
For the full year, TSMC reported revenue of NT$3.81 trillion, up 31.6% year on year and setting a new annual record. The company said growth was primarily driven by AI demand, alongside a recovery in non-AI end markets.
AI workloads underpinned demand for advanced process technologies, reinforcing TSMC’s position as the key partner for leading chip designers. The momentum helped offset seasonal softness toward the end of the year.
TSMC is scheduled to hold its investor conference on Jan. 15, where it is expected to provide updated guidance for this year. Market expectations remain upbeat, with major customers such as Nvidia and AMD rolling out new AI products and cloud service providers accelerating development of in-house AI chips.
