TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Pingtung-based Kemflo International said that it plans to boost the market share of its water purification systems in Taiwan, focusing on convenience stores and the foodservice sector.
Kemflo, a manufacturer of water purification equipment and metal products, said that water purification systems are a basic food safety requirement for the foodservice industry. The company noted that scale buildup in coffee machines, combination ovens, and ice-making equipment can cause malfunctions and increase maintenance costs, per CNA.
The company said that water’s pH and mineral content can affect the taste of coffee and tea. It added that its water purification systems control water hardness and mineral levels, helping prevent scale buildup and prolong equipment life. The systems also use filtration, membrane-based purification, and ultraviolet technology to remove heavy metals and bacteria.
Kemflo will begin supplying its water purification products to a local breakfast chain during the first quarter. The company is also optimistic about the market for its products in Taiwan’s convenience stores and foodservice sector, as rising sales of fresh food and coffee are expected to drive demand for water purification devices.
Kemflo reported revenue of NT$12.61 billion (US$400 million) last year, down 4.09% from 2024. The company attributed the decline to US tariff policies, which reduced shipments of its metal products.
However, higher sales of its water purification systems in China helped offset the drop. Kemflo expects these products to be its main revenue driver this year as it seeks to expand its presence in Taiwan while maintaining the strong sales of residential and commercial water purification products in China.
The company added that its focus on R&D and customized solutions has strengthened its water purification business with some major chain restaurants in China. The move has also boosted revenue at its factory in Nanjing.
