TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Container shipping line Evergreen Marine Corp. will pay staff an average year-end bonus equivalent to 10 months’ salary, reports said Wednesday.
The company said the size of the bonus depends on overall business results and individual employee performance, per UDN. It said the shipping sector faced geopolitical risks, trade wars, and shifting supply chains over the past year.
Stricter environmental regulations have imposed new requirements on container shipping, altering operations and raising costs. Evergreen said it has responded by renovating and upgrading its fleet.
Evergreen reported revenue of NT$293.37 billion (US$9.34 billion) for the first three quarters, down NT$54.38 billion, or 15.64%, from the same period in 2024.
