TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Central Weather Administration said that cold and damp weather will affect Taiwan from Tuesday to Saturday, with temperatures potentially dropping to 11 C, CNA reported.
On Monday, temperatures across Taiwan will range from 15 C to 25 C, with the north and northeast possibly seeing localized showers.
A cold wave is set to affect Taiwan from Tuesday to Thursday, with temperatures ranging from 15 C to 20 C in the north, and 15 C to 24 C in central, southern, and eastern regions. Northern and eastern Taiwan will experience brief showers, while central and southern areas are expected to be mostly cloudy to sunny.
A stronger cold front is expected to impact Taiwan between Friday and Saturday, bringing cooler temperatures of 11 C to 16 C in the north and 13 C to 20 C in central, southern, and eastern regions. Northern and eastern Taiwan, along with parts of Pingtung, will see brief showers, while central and southern areas could remain mostly cloudy to sunny.
From Monday to Wednesday, air quality is expected to be moderate to good in the north and center, and moderate to slightly unhealthy in the south.
The administration also forecasts that another cold wave will affect Taiwan from Jan. 5-7. Northern and eastern areas may experience brief showers and cooler temperatures, with scattered showers in central and southern mountains, and mostly cloudy skies elsewhere.
