TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Science and Technology Council’s Science Park Review Committee approved eight new investment projects worth NT$1.92 billion (US$61.12 billion) on Tuesday.
The largest investment came from San Fu Chemical Co., which will invest NT$850 million to set up operations in Kaohsiung’s Ciaotou Science Park, per CNA. The company supplies advanced packaging chemical materials to chipmakers.
Core Technology Co. will invest NT$600 million in Taichung’s Central Taiwan Science Park, focusing on semiconductor IC testing and sorting equipment. The NSTC said the funds will support advanced packaging technologies such as CoWoS and AI applications.
Shede Enterprise Co. will invest NT$300 million at Pingtung Park, introducing research and technical services for low-voltage power distribution panel systems. US-based Ayar Labs Co. plans to invest NT$150 million in Hsinchu Science Park to develop optical I/O chiplets and silicon photonics packaging solutions.
Other approved projects include Samji Technology Co. Ltd, the Metal Industries Research and Development Center’s energy storage and charging equipment certification center, and an Industrial Technology Research Institute biomedical accelerator.
