TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei 101 retained its title as Taiwan’s highest-valued land for the 13th consecutive year.
Taipei’s Department of Land Administration said Monday that its 2026 land valuation assessment, conducted from Sept. 2 last year to Sept. 1 this year, confirmed Taipei 101 as having the city’s highest-priced land, per CNA. As the tallest building in Taiwan and an internationally recognized landmark, it benefits from stable office demand and active commercial activity.
Its land value remained steady, with the 2026 announced land value set at NT$2.11 million per square meter. The tower has held the title “Land King” since 2014.
The second-highest was Cathay Landmark, at NT$2.03 million per square meter, holding the city’s “Land Queen” title for three consecutive years. The Shin Kong Life Tower near Taipei Main Station, valued at NT$2 million per square meter, ranked third in the city.
The department said that based on land price trends over the past year and overall economic conditions, the city’s overall announced land values are projected to drop 0.31%. Residential zones decreased 0.58%, while commercial and industrial zones rose 0.46%.
Among Taipei’s administrative districts, four saw increases, while eight experienced decreases. Nangang District saw the largest increase, with several large-scale developments attracting major shopping centers and tech company R&D centers, averaging a 0.39% rise.
Wenshan District rose 0.25%, with the southern section of the Taipei MRT Circular Line improving connectivity, while Beitou District increased 0.12%, aided by the Beitou-Shilin Technology Park development.
