TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — OneRepublic brought their tour to Kaohsiung on Friday, with lead singer Ryan Tedder wearing a Taiwanese temple-style vest.
The rock band made their fourth visit to Taiwan on Friday night, performing at the Kaohsiung Arena, per CNA. Before the show, event organizers gifted Tedder with a vest featuring his name and the band's name transcribed into Mandarin.
The concert kicked off with the song “Born.” The crowd appreciated it when he donned the vest before singing hits like "Secrets," "Run," and “Stop and Stare.”
Speaking in Mandarin, Tedder greeted the crowd with “Kaohsiung, nihao, nihao (hello, hello).” He added that the band loves Kaohsiung and its food, especially dumplings, which he planned to enjoy after the show.
Tedder joked, “I love you guys, but I cannot wait until the show is over so I can go eat the dumplings,” prompting the crowd to burst into laughter. He also went onto a smaller stage to perform solo and signed a soccer ball for a fan.
OneRepublic closed the show with “Counting Stars,” as the audience lit up their smartphone flashlights. Tedder thanked Kaohsiung and said he looks forward to performing at Taipei Arena on March 4 next year.
