TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Starlux Airlines announced on Thursday that it is working with Michelin-rated restaurant Yuan Ji on a new in-flight menu for its long-haul routes.
The dishes are designed around the concept of “the taste of home,” with the menu aiming to convey the memories, warmth, and food culture rooted in Taiwan, according to Starlux.
Yuan Ji, a Taichung-based restaurant, uses local Taiwanese ingredients and blends diverse cultural influences with contemporary aesthetics, the airline said. It added that the restaurant infuses innovation into tradition, allowing its dishes to carry emotion and tell stories.
Starlux said the collaboration marks the first time it has developed an in-flight menu with passengers’ needs as the starting point. The menu offers refined options in moderate portions that can be enjoyed within a shorter dining time, allowing passengers to resume resting with fewer interruptions.
The airline said it also has a partnership with Taiwanese tea brand Chicha San Chen, offering two freshly brewed tea beverages at its lounge in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2.
