TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Palace Museum in Taipei held the annual “Fun Night” at the museum on Saturday evening, drawing over 1,000 visitors.
Each winter, the museum holds a special evening gala and encourages visitors to wear traditional clothing to bring history to life. This year marked the centennial celebration for the museum and the fourth year since the annual event was first held in 2019, per a press release.
In addition to the unique atmosphere created by visitors in vibrant attire, a number of special collections were on display, including a collection of rare texts from the Song Dynasty. Live music and dance performances were also organized to provide cultural entertainment for the evening.
Roaming the various exhibitions, visitors also had the chance to interact with some historical figures brought to life by staff members in costume. One of the most popular attractions was a traditional-style photo booth, where guests could take a classic-style photo to remember the evening.
Deputy Director of National Palace Museum Huang Yong-tai (黃永泰) said that the museum is committed to cultural preservation and embraces innovative ideas to create enjoyable experiences for visitors. The annual “Fun Night” has helped promote the museum and national heritage to new generations in a fun and creative way.
