TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — US consulting firm Javelin Advisors has signed a contract with I-Mei Foods to help the Taiwanese food giant strengthen its ties with the US government.
Managing Director Keith W. Schiller visited I-Mei’s factory in Longtan, Taoyuan, on Tuesday for the signing and toured the site’s advanced production systems.
The facility houses a Bong-Khang Wind Tunnel — a 45-meter-long, 5-meter-diameter testing site for unmanned aerial vehicles under extreme wind, rain, heat, and cold. The tunnel also features a robotic-dog track that simulates terrain such as pebbles, sand, mud, and water.
I-Mei said it is engaging Javelin Advisors for US government relations services connected to potential contractual opportunities, without specifying the areas of cooperation.
Founded in 1934, I-Mei is one of Taiwan’s most influential food brands, known for its wide range of products, including baked goods, dairy items, snacks, frozen foods, and beverages. The company promotes Taiwanese ingredients, supports local agriculture, and enhances food manufacturing technology.
In addition to being Taiwan’s largest muffin supplier, the food manufacturer takes pride in its food safety center, which includes a laboratory and cutting-edge equipment.
Its Longtan factory—one of the most comprehensively equipped single facilities in the industry—features a 45-meter-long, 2.5-meter-wide freezing chamber that uses low-temperature freezing, vacuum drying, and ice sublimation. This process removes most of the moisture from food while preserving its flavor and nutrients.
I-Mei has recently expanded into robotics and has also been manufacturing advanced drones as part of its growing involvement in high-tech development.

Javelin Advisors is led by three professionals with backgrounds in senior government service, law, and global business. Schiller is a former director of Oval Office Operations and deputy assistant to the president.
The firm provides advisory services in government relations, public affairs, cross-border risk mitigation, crisis response, and regulatory strategy for clients operating in politically sensitive or complex markets.
