TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Japanese automaker Suzuki introduced its retro-inspired motorcycles in Taiwan on Thursday, combining classic 1970s design with modern engineering.
The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT draw inspiration from Suzuki’s T500 Titan and GS1000 AMA race bikes, blending vintage styling with what the company calls a “retro spirit with next-generation performance.”
Suzuki designer Shinsuke Furuhashi attended the launch to discuss the models' “timeless revival” concept. He highlighted that both models focus not only on retro-inspired lines and colors but also on detailed finishes, including metalwork, lighting layers, and proportions.
The 8T reflects the T500 Titan’s streamlined proportions, creating a clean, agile street bike with strong 1970s vibes. The 8TT leans more into the racing spirit of the late 1970s and early 1980s, featuring a front fairing, lower air deflectors, and other components for a sportier, performance-oriented look.

Both models are equipped with Suzuki’s intelligent ride system, offering electronic rider aids such as traction control, multiple riding modes, low-speed assist, and a ride-by-wire throttle. Suzuki also introduced a new lithium battery developed by Eliiy Power, which reduces weight while improving durability and charging efficiency.
The 8TT combines the 1970s GS1000S-inspired bodywork with the modern chassis and engine of the GSX-8S middleweight naked street bike. The 8T shares the same underpinnings but forgoes the front fairing and comes in more understated colors, Motorcycle News reported.
According to the publication, the 8TT offers some wind and noise protection, though the added weight slightly softens its handling. The 8T feels more nimble on twisty roads.
Pricing in Taiwan is NT$418,000 (US$13,379) for the 8T and NT$438,000 for the 8TT, with a limited early-bird offer of 100 units. Deliveries are expected to begin in March.
Globally, Suzuki reported revenue of NT$1.1 trillion last year and projects it could reach NT$1.6 trillion by 2030.
