TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s advanced packaging equipment supplier Scientech Corp. has surpassed NT$10 billion (US$321 million) in annual revenue, driven by strong demand for its in-house semiconductor equipment.
The company on Tuesday reported cumulative consolidated revenue of NT$10.39 billion for the first 11 months of the year, a 17% increase compared with the same period last year. In November, Scientech’s consolidated revenue reached NT$958 million, up 7% from the same month last year, according to CTEE.
Founded as a distributor, Scientech has repeatedly faced challenges in maintaining agency rights. To survive, the company transformed its service expertise into advanced self-manufactured equipment, a strategy that has proven successful, according to CommonWealth Magazine.
Last year, the company was recognized as a top supplier by TSMC, joining a list typically dominated by foreign firms. Unlike many Taiwanese companies that earn recognition through engineering support for factory construction, Scientech made the list as a homegrown equipment manufacturer, alongside global giants.
The company’s breakthrough comes as advanced packaging processes, such as chip-on-wafer-on-substrate (CoWoS), gain ground, requiring extensive specialized equipment. Scientech produces midstream equipment for wet processing, lamination, and delamination, primarily supporting TSMC’s CoWoS production lines in southern Taiwan and Arizona, according to Anue.
Its technical expertise has enabled in-house equipment to account for more than 60% of production. Institutional investors forecast a potential doubling of self-manufactured equipment shipments this year.
Scientech also maintains a portfolio of recycled wafer and agency-based equipment services, providing diversified revenue streams and operational flexibility. Recently, the company has invested in silicon photonics equipment development to capture opportunities in high-speed data transmission.
Looking ahead, Scientech expects its three main product lines to continue growing, driven by strong demand from major clients’ advanced packaging expansions. The company has reported new orders from both domestic and international customers, with overall order visibility extending into the second half of next year.
The firm on Saturday held a groundbreaking ceremony for its 22,000-square-meter facility in Tainan’s Anding District. Once completed, the plant is set to become the company’s largest equipment manufacturing center, doubling its current production capacity to meet rising demand.
