TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — East Taiwan experienced a magnitude 4.4 earthquake at 6:48 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Central Weather Administration.
The epicenter was located 60.6 km southwest of Hualien County Hall with a depth of 29.7 km.
The intensity of the quake reached level 3 in Hualien and Taitung Counties. Nantou, Chiayi, Yulin, and Changhua Counties experienced level 1 as well as Kaohsiung and Chiayi Cities.
Taiwan uses an intensity scale of 1 to 7, which gauges the degree to which a quake is felt at a specific location.
