TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei City on Friday introduced a platform that links high schools with universities and offers more than 250 free tech-focused courses to help high school students plan for their future.
CNA reported that the platform pulls together education resources from universities and high schools. It allows students to try out free courses in areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum tech, and biotech.
Chang Ming-wen (張明文), director of New Taipei's education bureau, noted that AI is reshaping how young people learn, but schools still need to watch out for age-appropriate use. Chang said the platform brings AI, sustainability, and career-focused content into schools so students can figure out what suits them and teachers can keep up with trends.
Lu Sheng-han (呂昇翰), supervisor of New Taipei's education bureau, said universities have already opened more than 2,000 free AI-related classes, including AI design, gaming, and smart health care. Lu said courses on the platform also cover 18 academic fields, including fast-growing areas like quantum tech.
The supervisor added that teachers can team up with professors through co-teaching, research projects, and workshops to build stronger learning networks. Students on the other hand can try college-level courses to gain future-ready skills
